The B&C 200G Alternator is a gear driven alternator and regulator system designed for most small Continental engines. It replaces the old and heavy 20Ah dynamo and the old vibrating contact regulator. The unit is of ultra reliable, permanent magnet brushless construction. It has now been in production for over ten years and hundreds are in service on homebuilt and permit to fly aircraft around the world.
The unit and its regulator weigh just 4.2 lb, saving almost 7.5 lb over the old dynamo and regulator. The output is 12 amps, enough for a comprehensive modern electrical VFR fit (including Airworld strobes, radio, intercom, GPS, ADF, and VOR) and a modest VFR night system combination. The regulator is part of the kit and is included in the price.
The unit uses your existing Continental generator drive assembly and coupling parts. These should be sent back to Airworld when you place your order where they will be examined and, if suitable, fitted to your new unit. Where the existing coupling parts are not available, we often have serviceable used gears or, of course, new gears are available from stock. A new B&C Alternator is a complete unit, ready to install and replaces the existing dynamo and regulator. All items are usually in our stores and available for immediate dispatch.
The labour cost of fitting the coupling unit is included in the sales price.
Note it is also necessary to fit the 504-1 PM/OV (300967) Permanent Magnet Alternator Over Voltage module with noise filter.
