401301 Exhaust System Robin alternative Part Number 56 26 12 000 for most DR300 and DR400 Applications
With the current situation at Apex (November 2008) these parts are difficult to obtain. However this is a viable alternative.
Made by one of the World’s leading exhaust manufacturers this is a certified substitute part for the Apex parts bearing the same part number. For technical reasons we have to describe this unit as “overhauled” but in reality there is none of the original unit remaining, All is brand new. But don’t take our word for it. Here are the abridged comments made by one of our engineer customers to his customer.
“The exhausts arrived on Friday and were installed. We were unable to ground run the aircraft until Monday due wx. All OK, the Tech Log has been updated and Ops were advised that the aircraft is on-line.
With regard to the exhausts, they have been "overhauled" by, a company who specialise in exhausts, particularly aftermarket systems for noise sensitive operations such as glider towing. Your exhausts can only be described as beautifully constructed, the metalwork without fault and the welding perfect. They fit to the cylinders and clear the cowlings as required, and even the clamps match the original Robin units. These exhausts have been manufactured to Robin designs, the design numbers being quoted on the EASA Form 1 release paperwork. I cannot find any part which has actually been "overhaulled".
I consider these units excellent, and the price appears extremely competitive, especially compared to units manufactured to fit the same engine type installed in Piper products.
When the log books next cross my desk, I shall attach a log book entry”
