The unit is totally self-contained, with all the electronics built into the base. No external driver is required, The unit requires only a 12 volt power source. Modern electronics also means that the Skyflash 2000 is economical with power requirements. The unit consumes just 500 mA, making it ideal for use where battery power is limited. The Skyflash 2000 is, we believe, the smallest, lightest self-contained unit in its class, measuring just 2.5" in diameter at the base and 5" tall. It is light too. Modern state of the art electronics keep the weight down to just 7.5 ounces or if you prefer 200 grams. Fitting is easy to almost any aircraft, wood, metal or microlight via the stainless steel mounting tab attached to the side of the base
